Faraway Play

I wrote this poem a few years ago now, I may have posted it a couples of years back, without the photograph attached. I am intrigued with children’s imaginations; remembering my own childhood imaginary friends fondly.  I spent most of my time alone growing up, as we moved around a lot, with Dad being with the circus, carnivals and driving the big rigs around Australia; I have probably mentioned that I went to around 25 schools across Australia (apparently).  I remember my fantasies being close friends in these times. The photo was taken in Thailand, by my husband Paul.  Peacocks are rather comical looking characters, almost alien like if you stare at them long enough, and close and and open one eye at a time really fast….  OK!  Just humour me, would you!
